In this day and time, it pays to be frugal. There are so many ways to save online and many don’t even know about them. One recent feature I’ve learned about is the walmart savings catcher.
Walmart Savings Catcher
I use it from my computer and I also use the free app. My phone is an iPhone so it’s free and available — but not sure about other devices. It’s simple really. Just log on with an email and create a password. You are allowed 7 receipts per week. You enter the TC# and pick the date of purchase. You can even scan the app from your phone. This will automatically search for lower prices (if any) with many major retail stores. I have learned this is much easier than price matching with sale papers. The bigger your receipt, the longer it takes but only about 48 hrs or so.
This has been out for some time but I was unaware until a cashier from our local walmart told me about it. I immediately signed up back in mid July, 2014. Below is proof of my savings so far. No catch, just sign up and get those receipts entered in time, as the time limit is 7 days from purchase. Here are my savings thus far.
(updated, June 28, 2016) YES, that is a grand total of $220.91
You can redeem to shopping card which is an email sent to you with a bar code –then, print it out and take it to walmart. It is scanned like a coupon and works like a gift card. Also the directions are on the paper for the cashier to follow. I always print out my amount too, as most of the time the registers won’t scan the correct amount. This assures you to get what was given to you.
Also if you want to save on printer ink, just have a way to your email from your smart phone. When you are ready to check out, have the email pulled up (data charges may apply) & the cashier can scan the bar code from your phone.
Either way, this is a super way to get the lowest prices. I say make walmart pay up– as they claim to be the lowest price, but guess what?? The image above proves them wrong!
Okay, on to my next suggestion for saving when shopping online. If you hadn’t yet signed up for Ebates –well ya need to! They pay you via paypal or a big fat check, to shop online! Thousands of stores to choose from too. Also available, online coupon codes to use in addition to the cash back. Each store pays different amounts..some up to 25% cash back!
Here’s what you do, visit the site (link below or highlighted above) and enter your info. There is also a free app for Ebates available for iPhone but not sure about other devices.
Ebates will need your name, address and paypal email if you want your money automatically deposited in your paypal account, if you don’t prefer the paypal payout method, they’ll send you a check. Once you get signed up, find the store over to the left of the page you want to shop at. To name a few……. Avon, Bath & Body works, Amazon, Ebay, Dell, Kohl’s, Sears, Old Navy and many , many more. For instance, I use Snapfish for my photo developing. It pays up to 20% cash back and provides a free shipping code. Way cheaper than anywhere I’ve found. I get my printer ink from 123inkjets and save half price compared to any retail store.
If you do any Christmas shopping online, EBATES is the way to go. If you are going to shop online, why not get paid? Pay out is every 3 months and you must earn $5.00 cash back before they pay out. Don’t forget you also get a 5.00 bonus just for signing up (to be paid out after you earn 5.00 cash back)
Don’t worry, if you log onto your Ebates account and then find your store and spend money, they track you. Yes, it’s that simple. I’ve been a member since 2010, here are my earnings. I don’t shop like I want to, so for those who shop regularly, you will potentially earn much more.
UPDATED June 28, 2016. I also have pending cash to be added to the above balance. Nice to earn money from your favorite stores just by clicking onto Ebates first –FREE money! WE should all love saving money online!
I’m not an extreme couponer. However, I have really saved a lot of money the past few years using coupons again. I used them a long time ago and kind of got off the beaten path but back in late 2010, I threw myself back into the saving money mode. I’ve saved around 3,500 dollars in coupons and savings programs since then. Many save more than that but I am very proud of my number. Ways to get coupons is in your Sunday paper. Red plum, smart source and once a month will be a P&G saver which is the one I never like to miss. Not always do I get the paper so when I don’t, I go onto coupons.com and click, print and save .
I have created a coupons savings center right here on my southern pinning website linked off coupons.com! So don’t forget to visit often and bookmark our coupon center!
