Are you looking for an affordable easy baby shower gift idea? The diaper wreath is a super cute and easy to make! Many ways to do these but I found the wooden 12″ sewing hoops to work great for a base!
Diaper Wreath
These are things you’ll need (or what I used)
(1) 12″ wooden sewing hoop
Pack of stage 2 diapers ( use stage 2 as the mom can enjoy the wreath longer before the baby will need the diapers but totally up to the creator)
Around 7 to 8 gifts (more if you desire)
Curling ribbon
Scissors (for cutting and curling ribbon)
I only used around 24 diapers on this wreath. Open them up and secure them around the wooden hoop. Take a piece of ribbon then tie around the diaper (more at the base of the diaper). When I put a few on there, I pushed them close together to give them a bunched look. Once you get going on this, it’s pretty self explanatory. I left all the ribbon hanging around to tie on the gifts with. After all gifts were tied into place, I used the scissors to curl the ribbon. I also added more ribbon at the very bottom for a fuller look.
So many ways to do these and they’re super fun to make & give! I have made them to be given for hospital door decoration too!
After you put all diapers around the hoop, here is what you’ll have
Of course you see that this was made for a boy. I space the gifts out a bit also –so it looks more even. You can even arrange the diapers better when all gifts are on. I tied a longer piece of ribbon up top for hanging the wreath also. An idea is the ‘over the door’ wreath hangers at the dollar tree for 1.00 each to go with it –especially if you are taking it to the hospital for Mom & baby!
Need an idea for the left over diapers? put them in stacks or four or six and tie them up with ribbon–place in a basket with other gifts if you have extra. OR just buy some baby wipes to go with the rest of the diapers. 🙂
