Vanilla Banana Poke Cake
Ingredients:
1 box vanilla cake mix
1 box of Jello instant vanilla pudding (5.1 ounce)
1 container of extra creamy cool whip
approximately 2 bananas
approximately 3/4 box of vanilla wafter (crushed)
Directions:
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Bake cake as directed on the box. I use a 13×9 clear baking dish as I don’t take the cake out, we just scoop it out of the dish. While your cake is baking, prepare your pudding as directed, set aside. Pour desired amount ( I used about 3/4 a box of vanilla wafers) into a large ziploc bag and crush with a rolling pin or wooden beater to desired consistency. After your cake is done, (careful, dish is HOT) take a wooden spoon and poke holes in the cake all the way through. (AS many holes as you want)
Pour the Jello pudding all over the cake making sure it’s down into the holes by pressing with your spatula. The more pudding in those holes, the better! After this, I let the cake cool for about 15 minutes due to not wanting the cool whip to melt. Once cooled, slice bananas and layer evenly over the pudding, then spread the cool whip on the top. Last step is to spread those crushed vanilla wafers ALL over!! This is a quick and easy yummy dessert that can be altered any way you want. If you don’t like bananas, leave them out. You can use banana flavored Jello pudding also. We like all vanilla flavor ingredients with the bananas.
Finished recipe!
I hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
